I did this today on my fixed stuff and want to put it out when it happens. The older blog stuff will have to wait!
I have been in Bangkok now for just over a week and have had such an incredible time in this crazy city. I caught up with my old friend Som for the first time in 14 years! It was great to meet her and her beautiful family. I managed to get my laptop and camera lens repaired for a lot cheaper than I ever expected. Seriously if you want to buy any camera or computer equipment Bangkok is the place. Had to stop myself a few times from spending my travel funds on a new lens.
Well anyway after getting acquainted with this enlightening city I thought it was about time to check out all this protest stuff that is going on. So today I joined what was apparently more than 30,000 anti government protesters on a march to Lumpini park, protesting for the resignation of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. When I got to the park it was pretty much a free music festival. I thought for one moment I was at glastonbury during the good times. There were thousands of people gathered having fun all wearing there protest colours enjoying the free music from the massive stage and the free food and water that was being provided. This is the first protest I have ever been pulled into and it was amazing. A huge street carnival of anti government protesters having a party and striking a message. There slogan was bangkok shutdown. And today they succeeded in bringing Bangkok into an almost shutdown whilst having a good time going about it. There were a number of granny casualties during the event.
